UNDERSTAND HORSES

I have taken several online courses from other trainers, however this course was truly life changing and has transformed my approach as a beginning trainer. I am so lucky to have been given the opportunity to take it. Trudi has poured her heart into the creation of this course and brings her decades of experience as a trainer and behaviorist. Justine Harrison lends her decades of knowledge and experience as well which allows for a well rounded view of equine behavior. The content of this course is comprehensive and covers all aspects of what someone would truly need to understand and apply as a professional trainer who is focused on ethical training and implementing R+ into their practices. The sequence of the course adequately prepares you for the next steps. The assignments were relevant to the material and also prepared me for the next steps in the course. Detailed video feedback is provided during the practical portion of the course. Trudi is extremely supportive and guides you through each step of the way. I would highly recommend this course to those thinking about becoming a professional horse trainer, those who may be traditional trainers but wanting to better understand how they can moves towards/integrate R+ into their practices, and even those who want to become a better trainer/advocate for their own horses. This course is progressive in that it allows one to truly envision a new way forward for the horse industry which is an exciting thing to be a part of. Thank you Trudi and Justine!

Highly detailed, technical and wide spanning content but easy to understand and apply in a supportive confidence building environment like nowhere else. Well thought out assessments to encourage learning and real life application. No stone is left unturned, no question is too silly, no opinion or starting point is wrong. Trudi is a rare gem I feel privileged to have learnt from. The positive regard she offers her students is applied to her student trainers in a well planned course that also helps foster a continued community for ongoing support and learning which is so vital in the fragmented equine world. This course was amazing. Not only was it packed full of great content, but learning from the other students and the support and feedback from Trudi was priceless. I feel so much more confident as a teacher for both humans and horses. I also now feel that I have a strong community to share both successes and struggles, and to continue my learning. What a fantastic process it's been taking this course. The learning material was meticulously prepared, providing a great depth of theoretical and practical principles. Superb support throughout, and the chance to interact with other like minded people. Well designed assignments and lots of additional resources. This course has changed my way of training horses. It has given me all I needed to know to use clicker training and other positive reinforcement methods with knowledge and confidence. I have learned so much! It is a comprehensive course with a lot of theory, but also many videos showing how to apply it in different contexts. But the most exciting part is the practical training, where I had the opportunity not only to practice with my own horse, but also to train a student with her horse. Learning with Trudi has been a pleasurable experience. She has been incredibly supportive throughout the course and she keeps a very open mind. The feedback she gave me on my practical work is invaluable and helped me progress at my own pace. I highly recommend this course to anybody who wants to become a better trainer!
