This course is aimed at horse owners, students, equestrian professionals interested in working as a horse behaviour consultant  You will need to have a good basic understanding of horse behaviour and learning theory to take this programme.


The mentorship runs for 8 weeks. The approximate weekly commitment will be 3-4 hours of study and discussions per week. All course material will be available for 30 days after the course has finished.

  • CPD/CEU Certificate

    You can download a personalised CPD/CEU certificate after completing the course material and the final quiz.

  • BHS and IAAT

    CPD approval for the British Horse Society and International Association of Animal Therapists has been requested.

  • KPA

    This course has been approved for 28 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the Karen Pryor Association (KPA). You will need to contact us for an event code, download your CPD certificate and then email both code and certificate to the KPA.

  • IAABC

    This course has been approved for 21 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IAABC). You will need to request an IAABC CEU certificate directly from us, so please get in touch once you have completed the course and quiz.

Your Instructor

JUSTINE HARRISON

Justine is a Certified Horse Behaviour Consultant with the IAABC. She is also the organisation’s UK Co-Chair and a member of the Application Review Committee. She is also registered as an Accredited Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour & Training Council, one of the organisation's Trustees and co-Chair of their Equine Committee. 
Justine lectures on the Equine Behavioural Science BSc course at Writtle University College and also acts as an expert consultant in legal disputes and court cases involving equine behaviour.  She holds lectures and workshops around the UK and regularly contributes to a wide variety of international publications including Your Horse, Horse & Rider (US), Horse & Hound and Bit (Netherlands) – either writing articles, commenting or answering specific questions about horse behaviour and training.
