IMPROVE HORSE AND RIDER CONFIDENCE
ROBIN FOSTER
Equestrians hold wide ranging beliefs and opinions (often strongly held!) on everything horse, from the best feeding routine to the correct riding tack and training methods. With such diverse viewpoints, it can be hard for a person to know if they are doing the right thing. Even the most talented equestrians can take a blow to their confidence when criticised.
Frightening experiences and physical injuries while with a horse can also negatively impact a person’s belief in their capabilities and damage the human-horse relationship.
Topics covered include:
• How does self-confidence affect a person’s interactions with horses and with the equestrian community?
• What factors erode self-confidence and how can their impact be lessened?
• What steps can a person take to strengthen appreciation of their own abilities and judgement?
• How does a horse’s confidence come into play?
• How can a strong human-horse bond build trust, confidence, and satisfaction?
After the presentation, Robin answered questions from the audience.
This presentation is for horse owners, livery yards owners, students, equine professionals and anyone interested in horse keeping.
